Farewell Sea Launch

That's right, Ammon got laid off on Friday. No more going to Sea. No more...well, I'm pretty much all caught up in the "no more going to sea" part! Sure they kept a few guys necessary to launch the next rocket...but most of Sea Launch is looking for a job right now. Hmmm, that happens to be the same job Ammon is looking for.

But Ammon didn't go in on Friday. (Why go to work just to be laid off?) He, instead, took Campbell and drove up to Utah to surprise his family. (Why stick around when you have no job to go to?) They actually haven't gotten home yet, but they've sent a few pics. Here's Campbell at the Grandfolks:

This weekend happened to be Pace's homecoming. (Welcome home Pace!) And somehow Ammon convinced his baby brother to dress up like Imagination Mover Smitty (an idea he's been fixated on for probably a year now):

Ammon, I hope you got it out of your system (and yes there is quite a resemblance). (Kind of reminds me of coming home from my mission and being convinced to get "the Rachel" shag haircut - I didn't have the foggiest idea who Rachel was.)

Oh, and did I mention that it was my Birthday? Thanks for all of the happy birthday wishes! I was on the road to Arizona with Isla and my cousin Brooke for a girls' weekend vacation getaway. (And, thanks to my cool birthday present phone that I already blogged about, I got e-mails, facebook posts, texts and calls all the way to AZ. :-)

Isla got a bunch of new clothes at the Outlets (I know Ammon doesn't have a job...but they were outlets...and she can't just go naked) and I got bangs (my cousin who lives in AZ is a hair stylist):

Yes AZ was hotter than Hades, but the hotel was a good deal (and air conditioned). The only pic I got of (most of) the girls is this dark one from a night out for Shonna (She's getting married - Congratulations!)... just before the hotel babysitter called to tell me that Isla was awake and inconsolable. Even a generally good-natured and sweet baby isn't a great travel companion.

When Isla finally reached maximum car seat tolerance on the drive home and I had to break out the Sprinkles cupcakes to calm her down. (She knows a good thing.)

And perhaps Isla tapped into all of the girl power because she...well, see for yourself:

It was great seeing Ammon and Campbell this weekend. Looks like you had fun as well.

Yes, Pace looks like Mover Smitty. That's why we call him "Uncle Mover Smitty" even though Spencer freaks out when we do. :)

Actually we call him Mover Uncle Pace, but regardless, the resemblance is UNCANNY.

Go Isla!! If I cry in the car, can I have a cupcake too?
