We spent nearly all of August "on vacation" (from our summer vacation). Campbell was clearly the most excited about it and the biggest enjoyer of it. It seemed that to him everything we did topped the last thing. So I thought I would get the vacation from his perspective...before it was overshadowed by "real life." I uploaded pics and asked him a few questions to jog his memory, but after my comment about 7 Peaks it's all in his own words except for a few comments from me that are contained in []
The first thrill of the trip was the Virgin River breakfast buffet. I think we have some room to improve. The second was a trip to 7 Peak water park. While riding on the lazy river with him he told me that his was the most fun he had ever had. Just the beginning. :-)
Campbell:I went down a funnel slide! It was SO fun and I didn't even know where the door was that we were speeding down to at the end. Me and my uncle were the first ones to the end of the funnel slide. It was fun! [Was it the best part of the trip?] No - Yellowstone was better.
I loved my Grandma & Grandpa's garden. (CLAP!) I liked picking raspberries and getting hidden to find the ones growing right on the fence.
I was scared [of Old Faithful] at first because I thought it would make a louder sound but... when we saw Old Faithful Geyser it didn't make any sound. And I liked the geyser walk. My most favorite geyser was Pump Geyser because when we saw the eruption it was going up and down like a pump.
That's me pointing out that that is called a National Forest. [Getting map] The names are Shoshone Nat'l Forest, Bridger-Teton Nat'l Forrest Caribou-Targhee National Forest. I think there's one more...nope that's all.
Next to the Grand Prismatic Spring there was a crater full of water from a geyser but the geyser wasn't there because it exploded. And how it exploded was because it got plugged up. Now at the Grand Prismatic Spring if we look at it the water looks like a rainbow!

We took a picture with an elk behind me! The elk looked like it could be a kid or a female.

I liked Mammoth Hot Springs because we could see it on a book called the ABC's of Yellowstone. The book said in spring the Mammoth Hot Springs just is hot water because in the other seasons there is a one inch shell over some of the water.
We went boating and I was helping row the boat.
[Campbell sees a moose...he didn't have any comment on this one.]
The hike up from Lower Falls was really hard so Uncle Pace let me just ride on his back. I liked looking over the edge cause when you look down it's mist - all the splashes splash so hard it turns into mist.
I liked the Artist Paint Pots the best because when we got to the top of the mountain the water was making crazy bubbles and kinds of crazy sounds. And two paint pots had water that looked like milk.
When we were driving on a road a buffalo crossed the street. They were rolling around in the dirt and making a lot of dust.
[We had a few days of down time before our next adventure with the Shepperts. We spent time with them in San Marino, Huntington Beach and San Diego. The only pic I have right now is of all the grandkids with Grandma at our hotel.]
We went to a hotel on an island. Near the island was Sea World - it was so close we could go there...and that's what we did. At Sea World I liked going up a tall tower and spinning around at the top.

So glad we got to experience part of that vacation with you! We've also been poring over that ABC's of Yellowstone book.... big hit. Oh, and Campbell, next time you come with us to Seven Peaks, we have some spectacular new slides to show you!
What a wonderful trip! I love seeing the pictures and hearing Campbell's comments!
