Isla, Isla & more Isla

Since it's already the middle of January and I've only barely mentioned Isla's birthday...I figured it was time to give this girl her due (because she reads my blog all the time of course and loves having her face plastered all over it.)

This is how Isla Belle spent her "real" 1st birthday. Boo.



We compensated by having not one, but TWO birthday parties. One with a shoe cake and all of the Madsens:

("ooooo, a shoe!" "this is kind of fun..." and "this moment is totally ruined for me by this infernal bib!")

And one with chocolate cupcakes, 2nd cousins and no bib at Grandma Mayer's:

"Oh, yes...I know what this is." "You eat off all of the white stuff..." "then throw the rest on the floor...got it!"

And her 12 month photo. Tickling. Her current word is "ticka, ticka, ticka" during which she tries to tickle you by scratching out your eyeballs. It's super-cute ...and if I don't keep on top of her nails it's super-painful.



A look back at 12 months of Isla. I'm sure the world is a better place. (Just wish I was a better photographer. ;-)
