9 Months, Take Two

I apologize in advance for my self-indulgent Mommy-gush about my cute baby who's gone and grown up on me:

Sweet sweet Isla...turns out that "sweet" just isn't the right word for her. I'm still looking. She's opinionated, driven, vocal, cheesy & fearless. She's all but rejected baby toys. She LOVES music and dancing. She can't not smile at Daddy and wants anything Campbell is playing with. She grabs sunglasses and glasses at any opportunity...and will make a bee-line for any phone, remote control or shoe left in her field of view.

I've been calling her "Fang" because she sported the one upper lateral incisor look for a while...but this month we've endured 3 more top teeth and 2 more bottom teeth making an appearance. Ouch.

Isla now HATES, HATES, HATES getting her diaper changed and gets away half naked more times than not.

"Mama", "Dada" and "Isla" are still her words...and she's invented one of her own: "mimi", which is her word for nursing. Of course, I'm the only one who believes it is actually a word. (Well, Campbell believes all her babblings are exciting words, "Mom guess what Isla just said - 'ga goo'.")

She still loves "peek-a-boo" and "I'm gonna get you"

She's less enamored with Campbell now that he's started "experimenting" on her (what would happen if I poke her in the eye) or over-enthusiastically enforcing the house rules (i.e. completely knocking her to the floor to yank from her grip a stray shoe).

She's mastered crawling and decided to take on standing without support and even walking. She's very proud of her self for her few steps.
