Too much fun, not enough time

Well, first and foremost I've neglected to comment on Campbell's first day of pre-school. He loves it. He's had a few adjustments (like wearing a yellow shirt to go outside to play) but he's ALWAYS excited to go back. Here he is ready for school with his bucket. (I guess pre-schoolers aren't quite ready for backpacks...seeing as all of their class work seems involve paint or glue.) As a rookie school mom, I totally forgot to take a picture of him on his 1st day. Lesson learned.

Ammon's band played a PTA gig. Oh yes, they were seriously questioning their coolness. (Wondering if they've reached the age where they need to retire the rock 'n' roll and start playing jazz or something.) Nevertheless, the kids loved them and were dancing on the...uhh...playground. Here's a pic of Campbell dancing with the kids (yah, it was a little too dark to see the rest of the dance party).

....

Saturday we chilled out at the Ward beach party. Good times! Campbell got some frisbee lessons. (He's been really into the frisbee since Ammon got one for his birthday - thanks Petersons.)

....

The Singletons (some of Ammon's oldest friends) are in town for the week! We met them at Disneyland on Saturday and stayed late enough for the fireworks (for the first time). Even though Campbell didn't cry or have a melt down, he just looked so troubled that Ammon and I felt guilty for forcing him to endure it - and left. (Of course it's hard to miss as you're walking out the gates, waiting for the tram and walking to your car.) They came out to Huntington Beach on Tuesday for a beach day and a street party. It turns out that all Campbell needed to get over his distaste for ocean water was a cute older girl giving him a lot of attention. Here are Campbell and Addie playing in the waves and then all of us on the HB Pier (which Campbell calls "the appear").

....

Last but not least: MY BROTHER AND LAURA ARE HAVING A GIRL! I know...shocking! I'm excited for Laura to go girl crazy after 10 years of everything boy. But It's especially exciting because little girl Sheppert will be just one month younger than our little girl - perfect cousin timing!

Is the PTA gig a step up or a step down from the mental institution?

We're glad Campbell is enjoying Ammon's frisbee. Spencer was sooo excited to send it since he recently discovered our neighbor's frisbee and has gotten into the craze himself.

Hurray for Baby Girl Sheppert!!!
