Campbell and Ammon picked out a fishing pole and got some bait. (Yes, they provided EVERYTHING from the pole, to the bait...to the cleaning.)

It seems that Ammon's casting skills were a little rusty, but Campbell showed him a thing or two.

It took maybe 5 mins to get a bite. Now THIS is fishing.
Reeling in the catch of the day.
Campbell, Ammon and the fish...still flopping.
The weigh in. Weighing in at around 17 1/2 oz we thought this was was a pretty darn big fish...but, in Campbell's "pre-school" category, the biggest fish (one hour into the derby) was about 45 oz. (I think that kid had a little help. ;-)I should have gotten a pic of the fish tacos that they made for us right on the spot! Talk about good!
In other Madsen news: Another delay at Sea Launch means that Ammon won't be leaving tomorrow after all. I know it's just delaying the inevitable...but I'm happy he's around for a few more days. Right now they don't have a new departure time yet.
Sadder news for those of you who knew John Varley - he passed away today. He's been suffering from severe Alzheimer's for a couple of years.

I love the fishing pictures. So cute...
The launch is delayed? You're kidding.... :)
Fun fishing pictures! Spencer and Campbell should trade fish stories, although Spencer's big catches all happen in the bathtub.
Behold the mighty fisherman! Way to go Campbell! Gotta love the stocked ponds full of fish.
No better bonding experience between dad and child than hooking into a monster trout.
