You Better Watch Out

Christmastime goes so fast!  We came home from Hawaii and BOOM, it was Christmas!  And now it's over.  Of course it all started with a trip to visit "mall Santa."  Although he looked great, he wasn't really projecting the magic of Christmas when he looked at me and said "Are they gonna cry?"  Well, yes in fact, they are gonna cry.  Campbell agreed to sit "near" him.  Isla agreed to sit with Campbell and Cooper just didn't have a choice. "Whaaaaaaaa!"
And then Santa visited our Ward party.  Campbell agreed to stand even closer to him so that he could tell him that he wanted a K'nex double shot roller coaster.  An item Santa did not bring.  (I guess he was naughty. ;-)
Isla agreed to sit.  (She wanted to tell him to bring her a "butterfly doll"...whatever that is.)
But quickly realized she did NOT want to sit on any strange man's lap.
Butterfly doll or not.  (By the way, he brought her a mini butterfly pillow pet and she was satisfied.)

She even had a big tantrum on Christmas Eve saying that she wanted to go home. (We were staying at Grandma Mayer's.)  Ammon and I finally figured out that she was worried about Santa coming to our house and when we assured her that she wouldn't see him or have any contact with him her spirits lifted again.  Here they are leaving cookies for Santa...and apples for the reindeer.  Oh and hot chocolate - they insisted that Santa would want hot chocolate.

We had a great Christmas Eve party with my Aunt & Uncle and their family members who were in town.  My cousin Jaime came with her kiddos and we put on a little nativity pagent...with A LOT of angels.  TOO CUTE!  But, for some reason I have no pics.

Christmas Morning!

Butterfly doll/pillow pet!

Are we bad?  We gave Cooper Campbell's old Little People garage.  He loves it.

Cooper never even made it to the bottom of his stocking.

I didn't catch a really good pic of Campbell with his loot, but as he sat looking at his gifts he said, "Mom...I got SO MANY really cool things."  Campbell, I am so glad you could recognize that all on your own!

Oh and everyone had a new Christmas church outfit.  All coordinating in black, red and grey, believe me, we looked darling...we just couldn't catch a pic before Isla wet her pants and Cooper got blood on his shirt (from a busted lip).  We'll try again another time.

My favorite part of Christmas Day was when my Master Chef husband decided to outdo himself with Christmas dinner.

This, my friends, is Fillet Ammon. (I am obligated to disclose that I made up the name, not him.) Bacon wrapped and perfectly cooked.  Topped with a shrimp dressing and mushroom cream sauce.  Served on a bed of garlic smashed potatoes.  To DIE for!  Merry Christmas.

I'll be needing some of that Fillet Ammon next time I see you... minus the shrimp and double the garlic mashed potatoes.

Genius idea with the Little People garage. It makes me want to hide all the toys my kids don't play with and save them for the new one.
