Halloween Season

Seems like Fall is really now Halloween season. So many fun Halloweenie activities...such a lame camera. I got my new battery and it turns out that it's the camera and not the battery. Boo.

Of course, we had to hit the pumpkin patch (or two) to acquire a few pumpkins, pet some animals, jump a little, slide a little, ride a little etc:

At the petting zoo Campbell was feeding goats like a pro....but Isla was still a little traumatized after being mauled by a goat this summer at the fair. She stuck to the fence and whined to get out. Just after I took this pic a man leaned over the fence, patted her on the head, smiled and said "petting zoo, right?"

..

We visited a couple of the MANY Halloween stores that have popped up in all of the stores that have been vacated this year. I guess that, despite the economy, the Halloween costume business is still booming. Campbell couldn't get enough of the hats:

......

We (Cooper, Isla and I) got to watch Campbell march in a school Halloween Costume Parade. Seriously, chaos. I'm glad Kindergarten went first...I'm sure the 5th grade parents were there until noon. ...but Campbell had a blast! (Did I mention that he LOVES Kindergarten?)

For his costume this year he wanted to revive Crash Madsen race car driver extraordinaire. We just changed his number from 4 to 1 (good choice) and added some cool gloves. Isla was Minnie Mouse - she refused to wear the ears...but I thought she was even cuter with her hair in little ears. She loves Minnie and was pretty excited about it...but then she kept calling herself Daisy - curious. Cooper was a (award winning I should add) Garden Gnome. Oh, Ammon was a jailbird...with a tuff big scar on his face.

....

Cooper pooped out for the ward trunk or treat:

As a bonus, Campbell & Isla were invited to a costume/birthday party at a cool reptile house. We got to hold and/or touch (among other things) a giant tortoise, a giant water monitor, a giant bullfrog, a giant scorpion and this GIANT Python:

..

Since actual Halloween was on Sunday this year we played it very low key. We visited/trick or treated with some neighbor friends to a few more neighbors in our complex. Campbell was MOST excited to hand out candy at our house. Who knew that Halloween would inspire the spirit of giving?
