FIVE (4,3,2,1)

Campbell turned Five. It really happened...even though he prayed that he would stay four. He wanted the birthday party and the presents...but he really really hates change and was quite worried about this one. But he survived. And the cool rocket from Grandma Mayer helped a little.

Then we had his party. That helped too. We had a space theme and hung stars from black balloons. Of course, I forgot to take pics so this is all I have of the decor:
There was swimming:a "moon rock" hunt (candy wrapped in aluminum foil):
a real rocket scientist helped everyone launch their own water bottle rocket:
and solar system cake:

Many thanks to Grandma Madsen who helped a ton with the party (and a needy baby and an anxious Campbell). And Happy Birthday to my crazy Campbell...I can't believe it's already been 5 years!

Oh...and this girl:

ate nothing but cake and candy for two days straight. She even chomped a huge hole in the cake cooling on the counter:

I love that Isla went crazy on the cake. I've got a sweet-toothed kid around here that I have to watch like a hawk.

That is the coolest 5-year-old party theme I've seen. I LOVE the solar system cake...and the moonrock hunt is so creative! Happy Birthday, Campbell!

Sounds like Isla needs a lawyer to negotiate how long she will have to be in time-out. Tell her I'll give her the "family rate". :)
