Family of 5...week 1 (& a half)

Cooper has been a very very good baby: Not much fussing & loves to eat and sleep - we'll take it! When we left the hospital he was down to 8lbs 6oz, but at his one week appt he was back up to 8lbs 15oz. Almost the whopping 9lbs 2oz he started at.
Oh, and as it turns out, the name Cooper is just prime for nicknames & rhymes...poor guy. Here's our Mini-Cooper (see):

Like father like son. Can you see the resemblance?:

We've spent the week at a luxury resort & spa: Grandma Mayer's house. Of course, it comes with excellent child care:

As for the siblings. They LOVE Cooper. Campbell sings "I love You, Cooper" every morning and sneaks kisses when no one's looking (he's too cool for doting). Isla, on the other hand, was THRILLED that we actually brought the baby home with us and dotes on him all she can. She would feed him and change his diapers too if I let her. I HAVE been letting her swab his umbilical cord stump and she's so excited about it she does a little dance. I'm happy to report that she's a "little mommy" and not a "jealous monster"...for now. She loves to hold him and give him kisses. I guess my biggest worry about her is that she's just a germ spreader. ;-)

Campbell ALREADY loved Grandma's house...but she really sweetened the deal by getting a new trampoline. Ammon, Campbell & even Isla have been clocking some good time on the tramp. The first pic is Ammon mid flip - Ammon's tricks make Isla laugh in hysterics.

......

Despite all the fun of Grandma's house, there have been A LOT of tantrums from Thing One and Thing Two. We'll be heading back to our house and real life tomorrow to see if a little dose of "normal" can make them feel a little more settled.

As for me, I am actually shocked at how quickly I'm recovering (night & day from when I had Campbell) - I certainly feel infinitely better than being 9 months pregnant! So far I'm feeling pretty good and up for the challenge of running a household with 3 kids - and, yes, I'm sure I'll be eating my words in a couple of days and running back to my Mommy's house...but I'm gonna give it a shot.

And one last thing...I LOVE my new double stroller:

He's so cute Kristen. I cannot even imagine having another baby with a toddler plus one. You are a champion.

Love the photo of Cooper with your mom... so sweet.

Good thing there's a net around that tramp so Ammon can't do Heath's newest trick, which I'm sure would also cause Isla to laugh hysterically.

For a real good laugh, ask Ammon to show you his patented flip off of the tramp. Be prepared with something to stop the nose bleed.
