I'm Mopping the Floor Right Now

Or at least I should be.  But I haven't posted a blog for so long...and it's infinitely more entertaining...

I haven't posted for lack of fun/crazy/frustrating things to write about...I think it's has more to do with turning a corner in the pregnancy.  I've been feeling great for a while now...but I seem to have gotten to a point where when the day is done and the kids are in bed all I can do is fall asleep on the couch with ice on my back, my swollen ankles up and half listen to Ammon clean up the mess we made.  I'm very lucky that Ammon is very compassionate.

As a general rule, I try to post pics with not many words...but I've been too busy to even charge my camera...so barring a few blurry pics from my phone, words are really all I have.  (And I don't really expect you to read it all.)
The latest at the Madsens:

Isla has eye surgery scheduled for March 8 - a very simple but delicate procedure which requires general anesthesia so keep her in your prayers.

Ammon and I got go on a REAL date to see Fred Eaglesmith in a tiny & cool venue.  He is the one who wrote/sings Lucille the song Campbell's singing two blog entries ago.  After the concert we were talking to Fred (total first name basis now) and Ammon told him that Lucille was his son's favorite song.  Fred asked how old he was and when we said "four" he chuckled and just said "ohhhh, wait until his 16 and his favorite song will be Time to Get a Gun (another one of his songs).

Campbell & Isla also got to go to a concert.  Besides Lucille their FA-FA-FAVORTE song is a song called Willa by Peter Himmleman.  When I saw that he was playing a reasonably priced kids show in LA on President's Day (no school so I had to find something to do anyway) we headed up there.  The kids go NUTS for Willa (a song about a dog) but, alas, he didn't play it.  When I talked to Peter afterwards I told him how much my kids love Willa and he kind of turned contemplative and said "Ahhh, Willa...that crazy dog that we gave away."  So I took that as perhaps not a dog he wants to remember with song much anymore.  Oh well.  Here's Isla storming the stage.

Valentines Day...All week long whenever Ammon did anything for me he was say "this is for Valentine's Day...Happy Valentine's Day."  And we would chuckle.  ...but he gave me the BEST gift: He let me have Saturday evening totally off to go shopping and out to dinner with Tina.  No kids, no time limits (no money restrictions...ha ha) ...very sweet.

We got to participate in the Surprise party of the century.  (Although we wish we got to be part of Teri's) My sister-in-law Laura planned 2 consecutive party's for my brother's 40th.  He even showed up early for the party in San Marino and we still managed to totally shock him.  Good times. :-)

And on to the frustrating.  We have no idea where we are going to move or what we are going to do.  5 people in a 2bed 1bath condo is not my choice, but I suppose I can endure it for a couple of months.  We have a goal to figure it out before Campbell starts kindergarten in the fall...we just don't know what we should do so we just end up procrastinating.

Isla is as cute as can be with her animal sounds, passion for doggies, love for throwing things into the trash, and compulsion to climb.  Where ever she is, she wants to be higher (ie. she puts the step stool on the coffee table).  As you can imagine, she is the master of any play area.  Here she is with her first ice cream cone.  Despite her face, it was a HUGE hit.

Floor still very very dirty.

I never seem to run into you at church lately! I'm glad your feet are swollen because mine are too. I was thinking it was too early for that!
