So much to cover, so little time...

First and foremost:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMPBELL!
Today Campbell turned 4! ...somehow that sounds old and very young at the same time. Here he is enjoying his airplane birthday cake.

And, yes, he is still totally, completely and obsessively into airplanes (especially paper). Here he is with a very complicated "Biplane" that he worked on for a week straight. Yes, all of these papers are part of one airplane.

The last two weeks have been so busy & fun. Grandma Mayer & the Shepperts rented a beach house in Newport and we got to spend a lot of time with them at the beach.

This is what Campbell enjoyed the most...the dirty water that everyone washed their feet off when walking from the beach to the patio. (That's sooo Campbell.) Isla enjoyed being dressed up the same as Annie again for another photo shoot (Not really, but they played along for a little while.)

.....

And we had a great 4th of July at Grandma Mayer's with the Shepperts and THE JOHNSONS! So great that they're back in Southern California.

The Shepperts (4 boys and 1 girl) + the Johnson's (4 girls and 1 boy) + us (1 girl and 1 boy) = ZEN! Ya, as if zen is anywhere near 12 kids on a holiday...but they made for a fun 4th of July! I was so glad that Campbell agreed to brave the fireworks when I offered him earplugs! And, wouldn't you know, he LOVED them. (And Isla thought they were pretty great too...without earplugs.) Look at these cute kids (minus Isla who was napping) all dressed in red, white and blue. My Mom was just laughing as she looked at all of these kids and reminisced about me, Brandon and Andrew sitting together in this room back in the 80's. (Probably watching Moonlighting...that's what we always watched together.)

And last but not least...
Isla is 6 months old! (I really can't say anything about that or I'll probably get weepy...my little baby...HALF A YEAR! For any of you who read Jessica Romney's blog I just have to echo what she said when her baby turned 6 months, "Babies don't keep.")

Up next...REAL airplanes and family time with the Madsens!
