Whatta Week!

My brother and his family were in town for the entire week last week. We started the festivities by going to a cousin's wedding reception on Saturday night, then a cousin's homecoming on Sunday. The Shepperts and my Mom had rented a beach house in Newport for the rest of the week. We spent the week going to the beach and out to eat and playing games and, of course, watching the Olympics. I might note that the energetic Sheppert boys stayed in the beautiful Newport house for a week without incident while Campbell managed to break the glass fireplace screen. Ahhh, Campbell.

Campbell learned about flying kites from Grandma and Uncle Andrew. Here's a pic of Campbell with Grandma and all of his (current - there's still another in the works) Sheppert cousins. (David was the King of pulling faces for the camera - can you guess which one he is?)

......

On Saturday the Shepperts left the OC...and the Madsens arrived. We received a kind of impromptu visit from Ammon's parents which led to more eating out and visiting. Somehow I neglected to take a picture of Campbell with the Madsen Grandparents. Oh well. It turned out to be a stroke of luck that they were here when they were because I had a bout with food poisoning (surely I'd eaten out enough times in the past few days) or some evil bug that caused me to have contractions that landed me in the hospital. The Madsens were nice enough to cruise over at 5 in the morning to take Campbell duty. Ammon and I spent the morning in the hospital where I was given very good care. They got rid of my nausea, re-hydrated me, checked the baby in every which way, stopped the contractions and sent me home as good as new. Whew!

Now to get back to real life!

Campbell sounds like such a live wire. It's hilarious to read about his antics (maybe not quite so hilarious to go around cleaning up after them).

Sorry to hear about your food poisoning... yuck. I wonder what other ailments you can possibly contract with this pregnancy. Glad you're feeling better!
