Over the river and through the woods...

Back from Utah safe and sound...but not necessarily easy. Campbell was just recovering from a cold when we left, and caught a brand new one for the trip home. He did well on the plane home until the last 15 mins or so when he started feeling really yucky. Then we got to our car to find that it was dead. Luckily we got a jump start and made it to Grandma Mayer's house. Campbell was feeling really yucky at this point (even medicated) and insisted that we continue on to our own house, but cried the whole way. Poor guy.

On to the good stuff :-)
Ammon's Birthday Launch was a Success! Hooray!

The trip up to Utah was great - Campbell was so excited about the plane and looking out of the window that he never even touched any of the toys we brought. We stayed with the Madsens where Campbell actually slept in a "big boy bed" and where Grandma Madsen watched him every day so that my Mom and I could see all of the shows at the Utah Festival Opera. It was so much fun! Is was like the old New York days where she would come to visit and we would see a Broadway show every night. We packed in 1776, Into the Woods, Manon Lescaut & Aida. Good times. We also got to catch up with all of the Madsen siblings and Campbell got to spend a lot of time with his cousins. The Madsen's house is a playground in and of itself, but we did get out to feed the ducks and visit the park. We also enjoyed a lot of big family dinners. For those of you who know of Ammon's dutch oven skills - well it runs in the family. (The only thing I wasn't sure about was melting my face as we roasted hot dogs over an open flame in 95 degree heat.) For some reason Campbell thinks that Mckenzie (9 months) is mean to him, but absolutely loves Spencer (2 years and a constant competitor for toys). Oh, and despite his wariness of sweet Mckenzie, he still wants a baby sister.

I can't resist posting a pic of Spencer and his very manly European Carry-All:

These pictures are for Ammon - here's the new "screening room" set up in your folks basement:

See, even my Mom couldn't resist.

It's a man's bag!

Email me all the pics you took of the boys! As awesome as Batman was, I missed playing with you guys at the park and the dam.

That's good Campbell is still hoping for a sister. Spencer, however, insists he'll be getting a brother. I fear I'll be stuck with a houseful of boys. :)
