The Whirlwind

We made a whirlwind trip to Utah last weekend to say a final farewell to Ammon's Grandmother Madsen. Ammon had the opportunity to speak at the funeral and did a great job at setting the tone for a very uplifting and poignant service. We were very glad we made the last minute trip. It also gave Campbell a great opportunity to spend some quality time with his cousin Spencer (3 months his junior) and Uncle Pace (who was just called to the Russia Moscow West Mission) and get some good rides in on Dad's old wooden rocking horse.

Grandpa Madsen has THE BEST toys.

In light of the previous blog entry...Campbell kept calling Spencer "Sammy." It took him about a day to straighten it out. Campbell and Spencer did get to have a cousin sleepover - they did VERY WELL together...but Campbell was all too eager to wake up when Spencer wanted to wake up (which, due to the time difference, was nixed by the parents). I'm sure Campbell will be VERY excited to see all his cousins again next month. His prayers usually include an (unprompted) blessing on both Spencer and Sammy!

it was soooo good to see you guys and it was fun to have you here. Sorry we didn't get to spend more time up there with you - work sucks and duty calls :) We can't wait to see you in a month...well, it will be another whirlwind, but more for us than you guys! Tell Ammon he did an amazing job on his talk - he certainly did set the tone for the rest of the service that day.

I'll second the part about Ammon doing a good job. I know Spencer had a blast hanging out with you all. The pictures are great!
